Stallion Harness-in hand
Date posted: 17th June 2011
A few people have asked about Oscars tack for in hand showing.
I used to always us a normal bridle to show him in hand but decided I should take showing a little more seriously (the small number of shows which I now do) and buy him a special show outfit. He is pictured here in what is known as a stallion show harness. As the name suggests this is designed for stallions and I presume the purpose behind it is to give the handler more control as the last thing anyone wants is a loose stallion on a showground during the summer months!
It is common practice to show mares and geldings in a snaffle bridle or a rope halter in some cases, stallions may also be shown in a plain bridle.
