Scottish Grass Sickness Show 2012

Date posted: 3rd January 2012

A message from Jean to inform us of some of the existing and new classes being created for this years show which is on sunday 3rd June. There really is something for everyone!

“Happy new year everyone. This years show preperation is coming along well. The schedule is nearly finished and we have a few new classes for 2012 – novice horse class (no cantering or galloping, ideal for the novice horse or rider), fancy dress class (kids only sorry!!!), part bred Friesian in hand, pure bred foreign …breed class (no TBs, warmbloods or arabs – this is designed to showcase unusual foreign breeds not normally seen in the show ring), potential driving horse or pony, and two donkey classes – an in hand and a working donkey class (for donkeys either ridden, driving, long reined or carrying pack saddles). The donkey classes will be lovely to see – in the interests of safety for any horses not used to donkeys, the classes will be held later in the afternoon, so all the horses should be settled by then. We will be the only show in Scotland with classes for donkeys before the Highland so I am hoping we will get a few entries. And last but not least – Bus Pass Class, a ridden class where the combined age of horse and rider is 60 yrs or more! Also returning is our popular Friesian classes, with our main sponsor Friesians Scotland sponsoring us again for 2012. Thanks to Janine for this!”
