Sammy at the SGSS 2017

Date posted: 13th June 2017

We had an early start to the day and took our little Friesian cross Dales pony along to the “Scottish grass sickness show” Sammy is 6 years old and it was the first time we have had her out competing, she behaved very well. She got rushed into the first class of the day without time for a warm up but it didn’t seem to phase her and she was placed 4th in the ridden class. She had her first attempt at a dressage class and was 5th with over 61% which wasn’t bad considering it was out on grass and part of a busy show field with lots of distractions including cars flying past at 60mph close to the arena! She definitely had a bit of a baptism of fire with that but the judge was extremely complimentary which was lovely. Then on to the partbred M&M in hand which she was 2nd in and her manners were super. It was a good start to her competition career and there will be lots more to come from this beautiful little mare I am sure!
