Britains first Friesian horse show!

Those of you who have been following us on facebook will already be aware that this summer on June 30th Friesians Scotland will be holding Britain’s very first Friesian showing show, which is very exciting!

Our confirmed classes so far are;
*In hand youngsters (up to and including 3 years old)
*In hand mares and geldings (4 years and over)
*In hand stallions (any age)
*Driving – mare/gelding/stallion
*Ridden -mare/gelding
*Ridden – stallion (mares/geldings and stallions ridden classes may be amalgamated)
*Period costume class in which we invite you to dress up as much as you wish, Knights ,maids , warriors all welcome, or maybe now is your chance to be a princess for a day!!!It is also a chance to dress up your friesians in their fancy tack! In this class no one will be expected to go faster than walk so that capes aren’t flying around the ring and wigs dropping on to the floor! Horse can be ridden or parade in hand, which ever suits your costumes best!

All classes are for Friesian horses only.

We will also have a few stands and displays. I am so pleased to confirm that the fabulous ‘Les Amis d’Onno’ will be providing us with entertainment on the day with their – Knights of the North stunt jousting show!

For those of you who are not yet familiar with Les Amis d’Onno I will let them introduce themselves……..

“We are “Les Amis D’Onno” the one and only equine/canine stunt display team!
In our “Knights of the North” stunt jousting show you will be knocked out by our amazing stunts, tricks, jousting, combat, skill at arms, classical riding and authentic costumes. The show includes story, narrator, music, dashing knights performing stunts such as roman riding, slack rope walking, drag behind a horse and attack by wolves!
Our horses are magnificent Friesians from Holland and Andalusians from Spain. With over ten years experience, the horses are the stars of the show!”

There will be plenty to see at this exciting event so for those of you who do not want to bring a friesian, there will be lots to keep you entertained on the day! As well as being a landmark event as Britain’s first Friesian showing show this is also your opportunity to come and experience the beautiful Friesian horse and see just what they can do. We aim to make this an enjoyable day out for all of the family.

This day is a charity event and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the Scottish SPCA as this is where my husky came from over a year ago. Do come along and help us to make this show a success.
